Piano restoration
Most secondhand Yamaha pianos are now being sent from Japan to various factories in China, Indonesia and Vietnam to have restoration work carried out. This is one side of the piano market we have been monitoring over the last three years. Whilst this restoration process has improved somewhat, the North West Piano Centre feels we are able to offer a much higher standard of restored secondhand Yamaha pianos by carrying out all the restoration work right here on our own premises. This gives us complete control over every aspect of the piano from start to finish.
Price increase
Due to the high demand for second hand Yamaha and Kawai pianos in the UK and Europe, Japanese suppliers are demanding higher prices than ever before. This is also not helped by the exchange rate. This new price increase is expected around November 2011. In order to remain as competitive as possible we have been in talks with our suppliers in Japan and we have agreed to order in advance our next 12 containers, that is 192 pianos in total.
This should enable us to hold off this price increase for longer than most, and hopefully our retail prices will remain as they are well into 2012. Yamaha and Kawai pianos still remain excellent value for money and our reconditioned pianos are still approximately half the price of a new model.
